Description: This plain weave child’s blanket is simply banded much like the early Navajo first phase wearing blankets.  The design is sublime and beautiful for its simplicity.   The design is three white bands above, with a larger brown field separating the lower three white bands.

Condition:  Condition is original without restoration.

Provenance: From a private collection in California.  This was purchased around 30 years ago directly from the family that had used it. The photo accompaning the weaving is an original photo showing the young girl wearing the identical blanket. The photo dates to around 1920. The photo goes with the blanket when it is sold.  See the last two photos on this page.
