Frontier - Great Lakes Area

Late 18th to mid 19th century | Silver | Item 2533

This is a rare frontier period silver bracelet depicting a beaver. The beaver is centered with two cut-out hearts towards the terminals. The hearts are bordered with rocker engraving in fine detail. There are two stamps on the outer surface. One contains the initials “DW” within an oval stamp. The other stamp, on the opposite side, is a hand with four fingers and thumb. I have researched hallmarks for the area and period, but no luck. There is wonderful wear to the surface. There are no marks (stamps) on the inside.
