Plains Indian Fully Beaded Doctor’s Bag

Blackfoot (possibly)

First half 20th Century | Glass Beads, Hide | Item 2589

This is a great and atypical beaded Plains Indian Doctor’s bag, likely Blackfoot. It is fully beaded on all sides, including the bottom. It’s atypical due to its size (18″ long) and the white beaded background with teepees of unusual shapes and colors. The bag is in very good condition, the insides with no tears to the lining and no bad smells. There is occasional bead loss, mostly on the bottom. The overall look is modern, which I like very much; the design is simple and provides enough voids to make the bold shapes work well with the bag form.
