A Large, Early, Spanish Colonial Wood Bench

Description: This sturdy and functional bench is a tour de force. Mortis and tenon is used through out and there is wrought iron attachments for the seat and the seat backing. All the long boards are one, continuous boards including the seat, the seat back, the fascia in the front and the stringers. The fascia, just below the seat, has semi-circular cut outs and protrusions adding flair. The arms at each side roll into a spiral at the ends. The wear is wonderful in its honey color and smooth feel. All of these qualities are characteristics of a mid 19th century bench.
Condition: Condition is original without restoration. The bench is sturdy and sound with a wonderful, aged patina.
