Description: This is a beautiful, authentic and early Christo from Northern New Mexico.  The Christ figure hangs on the cross with a forlorn face. This Christo comes out of  from what is called Mountain Village and dates to circa 1820.  The early santero Molleno is a consideration.  Victor Goler, the santero out of Talpa, New Mexico, believes that the Christo and cross are original and that the top iNRi board and the base with the two mourning figures was likely put together by Elmer Shupe.   The mourning figure on the left in red is by Jose Benito Ortega and the mourning figure on the right in green is likely by Elmer Shupe.

Condition:   Condition is as seen with paint loss and restoration.  The cleaner and restorer is Victor Goler.
