An Early Pueblo Silver Bracelet Ex. Larry Frank
Isleta
Circa 1890 | Silver | Item 1541
This elegant bracelet is a wonderful example of a rare and early Pueblo piece of jewelry. Larry called this a “First Phase” bracelet, referring to the period of its making. The simple, 7 rows of double brackets lining the outside of the bracelet is a pattern found on an amulet also collected by Larry Frank directly from the Isleta Pueblo. This item is in the SOLD section of my collection, and is item #1306, titled 2 Isleta Amulets in Hide Bag, Ex. Larry Frank. On one of the amulets can be seen the same double brackets on the decorated side filled with dots, then on the reverse is an identical placement of the brackets as seen on this bracelet. Two photos are included showing these Isleta amulets. The bracelet has short file marks along the sides, but only for the first couple inches from the terminals.
