Apache or Pueblo Tinkler Dance Belt

Dimensions: 33″ by 3″, with the strap opened up, a total of 55″
Description: This belt was likely used as attire for a dance. The hooves would shake and make noise. Some of the hooves are carved with a serrated end.

Condition: Condition is original with no restoration. The belt shows good wear and use and while it has “crackle” to it, it is in good shape.
Provenance: From a private collection in Seminole, TX. Originally purchased at Ward’s The Original Trading Post, Santa Fe, NM Sept. 1973
