This is an exceptional bag with a beautiful floral design. The workmanship is excellent and all is original with only a limited number of missing beads. The beads used to make the design on this Yakima flat bag are very small, 30 beads to a linear inch. Light blue is the background color with a bleeding heart like flower in each corner and in the center. Each flower is accompanied with leaves. The stem and leaves are made up of two types of green beads – a deep and light green. The flowers are made up of 3 colors of red and yellow. Two of the reds have white centers. The darkest red has no white center. The yellow is what I call “greasy yellow.”

The beadwork within the leaves and flowers is done in the contour style, whereas the background is done in horizontal rows. The back of the bag is covered with a deep, purple, wool stroud. The inside is lined with a designed, cotton, calico cloth. The handle at the top is rawhide and is attached to the inside of the bag.
