Comanche Copper Canteen with Rocker Engraving

This is a great Comanche copper canteen dating to the last quarter of the 19th century. Both sides have intricate rocker engraving. One side shows a star in the center surrounded by a circle of connected triangles. The opposite side has the same star, but now it is below the midline and sets in the lower half. I take the midline as the horizon line, making the first side the daytime and opposite side nighttime. The seam is lined with twisted copper wire and rocker engraving circles the entire perimeter on each side. There is a short, copper neck with a old piece of cork closing the top. The cork is attached to a steel chain connecting the cap to the side.
