Large Native American (Iroquois?) Tiger Wood Ladle

Native American - Iroquois?

19th Century | Maple Wood | Item 2154

This is a beautiful and large ladle likely Iroquois or a Northeast Native tribe, made from maple tiger wood. The patina has an overall glow to it and the wear is evident on the surface. The gently curved handle ends with a bird head and an in-turned beak that is the perfect finish to the piece. The bowl of the ladle is ample with nice wear to the front. The stand comes with the ladle.
