Mexican Framed Tin of Saint Teresa of Avila, Early 20th C.

Mexico

Early 20th Century | Tin, Paint | Item 2622

This painted, tin retablo resembles Saint Teresa of Avila. She typically is identified by her Carmelite habit and the crown of thorns, while a small crucifix and putti appear in the background. The whole scene is in a garden showing trees, rose bushes and grass throughout. The painted, blue, tin frame is a great period piece and in relatively good condition.
