Navajo Blanket With An Open Field And End Banding

Navajo

Circa 1890 | Wool | Item 2352

This soft and supple Navajo blanket is a Navajo version of the Hudson Bay blankets coming onto the market in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. It is strong in its simple layout of an open, white field bordered at the ends with four, brown, bands. There are wisps of darker colors occasionally showing up in the open field, adding an enigmatic quality. Both sides are equal in color, which is off-white with a hint of butter color.
