Navajo Child’s Manta or Shoulder Blanket
Navajo
Circa 1930 | Wool | Item 2419
This is a sweet and well done child’s manta or shoulder blanket. Three roughly equal bands of mixed colors are spaced top, center and bottom. The background is an off white. Triangles in brown, gray, white and orange make up a complex yet very readable system of rectangles and triangles. Each white band has one sectional line in the white area as shown in the photo. There is no weft selvage, but the warp selvage is a light brown. The colors are equal front and back.
