Navajo Rug, Dashed Diamonds

Item: 656

Origin: Navajo
Date: Circa 1930

Media: Wool
Dimensions: 5′ 2″ x 3′ 10″

Description: This Navajo rug has a splendid look with a stepped diamond border containing a grid of both dashed diamonds and diamonds filled with rectangles.  These diamonds all rest on a soft field of carded grey yarns.  The white weft surrounding the grey carded wool also has interesting carded qualities of light tan within the white.  This all adds layers of discrete complexity to the overall effect.

Condition:  The condition is excellent with very minor restoration for two small holes and to fix the selvages.
