Navajo Rug with Two Houses

Item #: 694
Origin: Navajo
Date: Circa 1940
Media: Wool
Dimensions: 41 x 23.5″
Description: This sweet, detailed small rug has two houses in the center, one with a chimney showing smoke, the other larger, like a school.  These buildings are backed by a beautifully variegated brown wool. The stepped triangle patterns both above and below show great detail, and the stepping to their edges is a call back to the earlier, classic blankets.
