Navajo Turquoise and Heishi Tab Necklace with Jaclas

Navajo or Pueblo

Circa 1940 | Turquoise, Shell | Item 2475

This beautiful tab necklace could be Navajo or Pueblo. What is most striking about it is the use of green (or what has turned green) turquoise mixed with the larger scale, white, shell beads (Heishi) that vary in size. There are two strands that are squaw wrapped with cotton. The pair of jaclas, also of green turquoise, hang at the lowest point and end with three, white, shell beads.
