New Mexcian Retablo of Guadalupe by Jose Aragon, Circa 1830

Jose Aragon

1820 - 1840 | Wood | Item 2278

This large board of Guadalupe by Jose Aragon shows the saint supported by an angle. Her image is surrounded with floral elements – 6 in total. The board is thick and shows much chipping on its backside. It’s thought that this board may have been a reused panel from an early door due to its shape and thickness.
