Osage Pony Beaded Choker or Headband

Plains Indian, likely Osage

1860 - 1870 | Buffalo hide, Glass Beads | Item 2483

This is a rare find, a pony beaded choker or headband on buffalo hide. Large white and blue beads make alternating bands across the length of the front half. The beads are all sewn on with sinew. The back half is un-beaded hide for tying. The beads and hide show nice wear, and some limited, small areas towards the underside are dirty as seen in the photos. The stand is included with this item.
