Pair of Silver, Spanish Colonial Earrings, 19th Century
Mexico or Spain
19th Century or older | Silver | Item 2602
Here’s a wonderful pair of chandelier, silver earrings. The design work is all floral beginning at the top with a small fan shape suspended from it the largest portion of the earring showing a large flower set onto an elongated triangle. The base of this triangle supports three suspended leaves with the outer two being the same and the inner one the largest. There are no hallmarks. This is either from Mexico or Spain. The earrings pre-date the silver work coming out of Mexico such as Spratling and Taxco. This pair has a simple, silver wire for a pierced ear.
