Description: This axe is an ancient tool that was either functional as such or used for some specific purpose. Only a small handful of these have come up over the years. The stone head has had many years of use and appears to have been covered with some material that has stuck to it over time, contributing to its overall fine and complex patina. The head could be a pre-historic tool that has been adapted to the handle over time. This came from the collection or Robert Gallegos, and he stated that these have been found in old Pueblo walls and floors, but there is no reason found yet that explains this.
