Sioux Medicine Horn Cup
Sioux
Late 19th to early 20th century | Horn, Hide, Glass Beads, Tin | Item 2484
The top of the horn cup is wrapped in thick hide (3 3/4″ wide), looking and feeling like buffalo. The hide is fringed at the top with a row of light blue beads, followed by two rows of yellow beads. The design has a geometric layout in white, green deep blue and red with white hearts. The bottom hide is lined with another row of light colored blue beads and eight spaced out tin cones with yellow horse hair. The horn portion shows use as it’s smoothed and naturally oiled.
