Small Cochiti Man with Back Pack

Cochiti

Circa 1940 | Clay | Item 2130

This charming Cochiti figure is characteristic of the Cochiti pottery coming out during this period. His mouth is open, perhaps he is singing, and both his hands are resting on his torso. He’s carrying a small back pack which has a bird painted on its back side. He’s wearing a necklace of sorts. There is evidence of a Fred Harvey sticker on the soul of one of his feet. He does not stand on his own, but with a bit of plasticine clay under his feet he should have no problem standing on his own.
