Spanish Colonial, New Mexican, Beaded Wrist Heart Bracelet

Spanish Colonial New Mexico

Last half 19th century | Glass Beads | Item 2142

This sweet beaded heart on a beaded wrist band was made in New Mexico during the last half of the 19th century. The heart is beaded on both sides and is attached to a beaded wrist band consisting of 4 strands twisted into a spiral. It is most likely a religious item worn by a woman. I do not know enough about these to describe them further. It comes out of the Larry Frank collection who was a prolific collector of Pueblo and Spanish Colonial items of New Mexico, where he lived.

Dimensions 6" overall
Condition Fair with some falling apart of the wrist band.
