Taos Drum, Circa 1940

Taos

Circa 1940 | Cottonwood, Hide | Item 1899

This is a pleasing drum, with attractive colors and a nice patina from use. There is a small area where the hide members have broken. It’s hard to see this and thus is not very distracting. The shape is not round, but oblong round, so there’s a short diameter and a long diameter. The photos explain this well.

Dimensions 11 1/4" tall, 9 1/2" to 10" dia.
Condition Good with one area of broken hide supports.
Provenance Mark Sublette Medicine Man Gallery
Taos drum circa 1940, just under 12" tall, teal blue and magenta red with well worn and used hide.
