Taos Micaceous Pottery Cup 19th C.

Item: 729

Origin: Taos Pueblo
Date: 19th C.

Media: Clay

Dimensions: 2.5″ tall, 4″ diameter

Description: This cup has seen a lot of use but is still intact outside of some chips.  It is a rare relic and I’m amazed that it has made it to this period. Circulating the cup at its widest point are two rows of finger sized protrusions like bumps.  The micaceous clay is obvious with all the sparkle radiating outwards. The cup came with a tag with writing on each side.  The final two photos show both sides of this tag.

Condition:   Condition compromised with cracks and chips.  That being said, it is stable as far as I can tell.

Price: $300
