Description: This chair likely dates to the mid 19th Century.  The wood appears to have been adzed and not sawn. The joinery is all mortise and tenon with early nails (wood?) used to secure the seat. Metal braces where put on a long time ago to better secure the chair.  The chair is very simply stated.  There are the stepped posts at the top like a kiva, and the slates are beaded.  The foot rail shows good wear from shoes over time. While the chair is secure, it does have a slight wobble to it.
