Navajo Double Saddle Blanket

Item: 1344

Origin: Navajo
Date: Circa 1910

Media: Wool

Dimensions: 58.5″ x 35.5″

Description: This is a classic Navajo double saddle blanket with the Greek key motif creating the outer border.  This all frames a background of carded grey wool that is more like salt and pepper with the high degree of contrast.  The center is an open field of creamy white.  The salt and pepper yarns trespass into this open field on one side in two short bars.  The wool is wonderful being more like earlier churro wool with its long parallel fibers, no fuzziness and very a soft touch.

Condition:  Condition is very good with some edge wear and staining in the open field center.  Extra work might get these stains out.

Price: 2850
