Navajo Twill Woven Small Double Saddle Blanket

Item: 1187

Origin: Navajo
Date: Mid 20th Century

Media: Wool with natural colors and some dyes (the gold yarn and possibly the black yarn)

Dimensions: 48″ x 24″

Description: This could be a double saddle blanket.  The blanket is heavier and more coarse and done in twill, which all makes it a stronger blanket for the horse.  However, there is very little wear so it’s possible this was made as a simple, small blanket.  The soft palette is very pleasing with a repeated pattern going out from the center line.

Condition:  Condition is excellent with no restoration.  No bad odors.

Price: 800
