Description: This early sash or belt is woven of golden and red 3 ply machine yarns, the red being dyed with cochineal. The indigo blue is homespun white wool dyed with indigo.
Provenance: Attached tag: “129209 1012 Zuni Stevenson Bur. of Ethno.” Supported paper work document the registration of this sash into the expedition by Stevenson in the late part of the 19th c.
