Zia Man’s Leggings For Dancing

Dimensions: 26″ length, 9″ widest.  As framed 35.5″ by 29″

Description: This pair of leggings were used by men during dance ceremonies.  They are believed to be crocheted.  The tops have ties for the legs and the bottoms have stirrups for the feet. There is an overall zig-zag pattern laid over horizontal rows of crochet.  The cotton is covered in areas with red earth, often used as paint on the body.  These are rare and hard to come by.

 

Condition:   Condition is excellent.  The leggings are sewn onto a fabric board that is framed .
